Chateau Pontet-Canet Pauillac 2004

Chateau Pontet-Canet Pauillac 2004

Even though Pontet is only a Fifth Growth, ever since Alfred Tesseron took over in 1994, the vineyard are producing wines at the level of the best Second Growths and in some vintages, as good as the First. Situated next to giant Mounton Rothschild, Tesseron has inspired other around him to work more organically as well as biodynamic.

Tech + Tasting Notes

Ripe generous blackberry, chocolate, cassis with a hint of orange zest. Deep purple fruit with fine intensity, power and purity. This Pauillac is silky on entry, with classic Pauillac cassis and graphite. Tannins are developed and integrated the wine is built for the long haul, although the wine is ready to drink, a few years in the cellar it would not hurt it.
