Boucheran is made from a 0.89 hectare located between two premier crus, Vaillons and Montmains. The soil is Kimmeridgian (moyen) with a high proportion of white clay in the soil. The vines are 35 years old.
Edouard and Eleni met while working the 2010 harvest in New Zealand. Soon after they were married and on their way back to Chablis to take over a small piece of Edouard's family domaine. Edouard's family owns Domaine Vocoret & Fils, a large and established domaine, with over 50 hectares planted.
Their primary focus with their first 4.9 hectares was applying a more artisanal and sustainable approach to farming. They specialize in making single site “village level” wines — highlighting a single plot with different personalities with same winemaking. Their small holdings allow them to know their vineyards by heart.
