From two parcels: Les Genévrières-Dessus and Les Genévrières-Dessous. Both are south-east facing and are situated next to Poruzots.
Very stony with small stones, and a high mineral content.
An up-and-rising domaine in Meursault, Bernard-Bonin has been managed by a lovely couple Nicolas Benard and Veronique Bonin since 1998. They own a 7-hectare domaine in which they have carefully crafted their wines to a very high standard, working exclusively with Chardonnay mainly in Meursault with a few small plots in Puligny-Montrachet. Grapes are picked earlier than usual to retain the acidity and balance out the fat of Meursault, vinified then aged 15-18 months in oak barrels. They take on a minimal intervention approach using natural yeasts, no enzymes, no filtering, minimal sulfur, etc throughout the process to ensure their wines can express themselves. They are known to produce fresh, rich, mineral and vibrant styles of Meursault.
