In California we cultivate six white wine grape varieties in and around Napa Valley and Sonoma County. Four of the grape varieties trace their origins to Italy – Tocai Friulano, Ribolla Gialla, Pinot Grigio and Greco. Two of the grape varieties, although no strangers to Italy, are more widely known throughout the world – Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc.
