Collina, which means “hill” in Italian, was originally produced from the hillside estate’s young vines, but after decades of production, this wine stands all on its own and has earned its placement as the lovely companion to the more serious Dalla Valle Cabernet and Maya. The 2022 is a study of the fresher and more approachable portions of the estate vineyard.
A Cabernet Sauvignon dominant vintage for this wine comprising of 81% of the blend, with 19% Cabernet Franc contributing to the harmony of the wine. Notes of satsuma plums, strawberries and cream interplay with a crimson red brightness and an estate signature seamless tannin profile. Savory herbs come through on the palate that add lift and complexity into the wine through the finish. This wine is ready to be savored today, yet those with patience will be rewarded over time.
