From the ever-creative and driven Julien Sunier comes this "anytime red" , as he fondly refers to it. Wild Soul, like most of Sunier's fruit, is farmed and harvested at high altitude (400m), resulting in freshness, aromatic vibrancy, a lythe presence on the palate, and endless pleasure.
Artisan vigneron Julien Sunier hails from Burgundy, and in 2005, he purchased “La Ferme des Noisetiers” (The Hazelnut Farm), which measures just over five and a half acres. The high altitude in Avenas helps with slower, cooler fermentations than the surrounding areas, which leads to gentler, long extractions. He tends to 10 acres spread across the crus of Morgon, Fleurie and Régnié. Sunier’s methods can be distilled into a single quotation: “don’t forget that wine is a grape’s memory, so take care of the land.” He practices “agro-ecology,” working hard to protect the biodiversity and fertility of the soil with the intent of producing wines that reflect the character of terroir. He has worked organically since the winery’s conception, and is pursuing Agriculture Biologique certification.
