This prestigious cellar was one of the first in Burgundy to estate-bottle wines, a practice of which was practically unheard of in the region prior to the mid-20th century. Now helmed by the Marquis d’Angerville himself, this Volnay-based estate produces world-class wines from organically and biodynamically grown plots across the region, which are as sophisticated and exquisite as the hands that produce them. This is one of our favorites for rich seafood dishes and creamy pastas. It's irresistable!
This domaine started bottling its own production in the 1920s after the current Marquis’ grandfather, Sem d’Angerville, stood up to the negociants’ corrupt blending practices. As a result and in defiance of them, he became one of the first Burgundy domains to estate bottle their wines. Today the estate is led by Guillaume d’Angerville, farmed immaculately, and is producing some of the best wines in the entire Cote d’Or.
