Aromas of bramble, cedar, herbs, and blackcurrant. Medium-bodied, firm tannins, black fruit and cherry flavors. Densely concentrated with notes of violet. Pair with red meats, hard cheeses, and grilled vegetables.
1988 was a fantastic vintage that inspired the Massouds to build their own winery, which was completed in 1990. Paumanok is now in the hands of the next generation: Kareem Massoud has recently taken over as winemaker and is also president of Long Island Wine Country. He is also the winemaker of neighboring Palmer Vineyards.
