Domaine Gauby is near the village of Calce, in France’s Roussillon region, near Spain. The 200-acre estate has been in the Gauby family for generations. But like most grape growers in the region the family historically sold their grapes to the local winemaking cooperative. When Gerard Gauby took over in 1985 he began bottling his own wine, thereby getting in on the beginning of a regional trend to improve the quality of locally-produced wines. The domaine makes red and white wines, and its flagship wine is Muntada, made of 45% Grenache, 45% Carignan, 5% Mourvedre and 5% Syrah.
