The Domaine Jobard-Morey is a renowned winery located in the Burgundy region of France, specializing in the production of high-quality white wines. One of their most famous wines.
A classic white Burgundy nose packed with white fruit, carrying through to a beautifully taught palate, driven by a wonderful energy of fruit.
This 5.5 hectare domaine has taken on a new lease of life with Valentin Jobard at the helm, since 2016. Valentin's grandfather Emile was the younger brother of Antoine and Remi Jobard's grandfather Pierre. Emile Jobard was married to a Mademoiselle Morey โ not especially closely related to the Moreys of Meursault, but sister of Maranges vigneron Bertrand Bachelet's grandmother.... Valentin's previous training was a year with Vincent Dureuil-Janthial in Rully, then six years with Bernard Bouvier of Marsannay, as a result of which he takes his few cuvoes of red seriously โ they are lowly appellations, but deliciously lively wines. The main task, though, is of course the whites. Valentin still uses an oldstyle Vaslin press, which tends to give more lees. The Bourgogne Blanc is worth looking out for, as it comes from a small plot directly behind Meursault Clos des Perrieres. All the whites manage to combine a rich depth of flavour with a degree of tension that keeps them fresh โ helped by the significant proportion of old vines across the property, planted by Emile Jobard in the years after the Second World War.
