Nestled in the rugged hills near Lake Garda, in this breathtaking part of northeastern Italy, near both Venice and Verona, is the Albino Armani winery. The first Sauvignon Blanc from Italy to earn its way onto the Bayway 100, this deliciously crisp, dry white has the telltale fresh cut grass and citrus aromas, with lemon-lime and green apple flavors and a crisp, zesty finish. The area boasts a microclimate, on one hand influenced by the warmth of nearby Lake Garda, and otherwise characterized by intense temperature fluctuations. The resulting wines show a freshness, minerality and purity, hallmarks of the Vallagarina.
