The assembly of its 4 plots brings together the qualities of the four terroirs, giving a balanced, racy, mineral wine with a very great finish.
Jean-Philippe Fichet tests the limits of transparency to find the very soul of Meursault’s terroirs. Through a series of Meursault lieu-dits, he works to reveal the intense stoniness of the limestone-centric soils of this famed White Burgundy village.
A tireless and devoted farmer, Fichet is often in the vines from dawn to dusk. Among his many distinctions is a belief in severe winter pruning rather than green harvesting.
Fichet's cellar is so spotless one could eat off the floor. It is in this cool, perfectly organized cellar that the wines go through a patient 18-month élevage, including 12 months in mostly used wood followed by 6 months in tank. With very little lees stirring, Fichet achieves focused, racy, and electric wines without artifice.
