Paolo Bea Vigneto Pagliaro Montefalco 2012

Grape: Sagrantino
Region: Umbria
Appelation: Montefalco

Pagliaro opens with aromas of red and blue fruits, peppery herbs, pencil lead, violets, forrest floor, and spices. Sturdy tannins and lively acidity, give the wine a structure for serious aging. Pagliaro is Bea's flagship bottling and always needs a few years in the cellar. This mono-varietal Sagrantino macerates for 48 days, then the wine ages in stainless steel for one year, followed by two years in barrels and finally a year in bottle. Pagliaro constantly delivers great complexity and great longevity.
