La Bruja de Rozas – The Witch of Rozas – is a reference to the almost perpetually grey skies and eerie light typical of the area around the town of Rozas del Puerto Real. This Comando G’s “village” wine is made with pure Garnacha and sourced from vineyards between 50 and 90 years old spread over three estates located at an altitude of 900 meters on granitic sand soils in the Sierra de Gredos. Organically farmed, fermented with indigenous yeasts and subject to up to five months maceration, La Bruja receives just as much care and attention in the vineyard and winery as top cuvees. It represents an amazingly pure interpretation of the village of Rozas and is a fantastic way to get to know the Gredos wines.
La Bruja is perfumed and lively with plenty of fruit and displays the sort of high toned, delicate, lifted aromas of liquorice, pomegranate and raspberry with a backbone of acidity and fine tannin that have made the Comando G wines so sought after. A fresh Grenache with a lot of character!
