The prestige wine of Montevertine is only produced in outstanding vintages. This ultimate wine is aged in large Slavonian oak barrels for 18 months and then racked into small French oak (Allier) barrels for the final six month stage of its élevage. It is produced primarily from a two hectare vineyard planted in 1968 exclusively to Sangiovese vines with a north-northeast exposure.
The 2022 Montevertine Le Pergole Torte Toscana IGT is a highly acclaimed, 100% Sangiovese wine from the heart of Radda in Chianti, Tuscany. Produced by Martino Manetti, it is widely considered one of the top Tuscan red wines, often regarded as a pinnacle expression of pure Sangiovese.
The 2022 vintage has received exceptionally high scores, including 98 points from James Suckling, 98 points from The Wine Advocate, and 97 points from Vinous.
