The Merkelbachs are firm believers in tradition, and while changes in climate and style preferences have pushed up must weights and produced profoundly riper wines, the brothers craft wines of a style more typical to an era long forgotten.
Typical blend of Douro, Rabigato, Malvasia fina, Codega do Larinho and Gouveio. Clean and vibrant straw color with fresh floran aromas and great minerality. Notes of citrus, pineapple, yellow apple and white flower.
The first โNardelloโ bottling was in 2000, and it is startling to see (taste) what the two have achieved since then. Their Soave is classic, pure, with outstanding definition; it is a joy to drink.
Light and ruby red color of moderate intensity. Fine, intense and vinous bouquet with sensations of red fruit and delicate spicy notes. Dry, smooth and harmonious taste, enriched by tannin notes with a slighty bitter finish.
On the nose, the red fruits will carry you away with notes of raspberry with a hint of cassis. On the palate, this fruity that dominates, gives a feeling of greediness, associated with a supple, delicate material with light tannins.
