This supple and elegant mountain-grown Merlot continues to remind wine lovers how delicious Merlot can be. It was aged for 22 months in French oak barrels (40% new), and was blended with three of the other red Bordeaux varieties for added structure and complexity.
Robust and remarkably aromatic, this wine begins with aromas of ripe black cherry, plum, baker’s chocolate, roasted coffee beans, cedar and clove, with complex hints of coastal forests, fresh-tilled earth and fine herbs. The intense fruit and herb notes are echoed on the palate, where plush, fine-grained tannins and mouth-filling flavors of dark cherry, cassis and anise build to a long, velvety finish.
