The Sangiacomo family has been farming in Sonoma for over 100 years, and we’ve been making wines with them since we began in 1981. Well known for their attention to detail, the result is a complex and vibrant Chardonnay reflective of the Carneros region.
Vintage: Although it was the worst drought in 100 years, high temperatures inland pulled the marine layer over coastal areas, which experienced a mild, long growing season. Ideal for Chardonnay.
Appellation: Carneros, Sonoma
Clones: Robert Young, Beresini, Cabral, Catarina, Old Wente, Dijon 76, 95, 809, 548
Terroir: Consists of loam and clay soils and a mixture of flat land and rolling hillsides. The reliable marine fog rolls in every evening and burns off mid-morning.
Aging: 8 months in 10% new Fench oak barrels.
Tasting Notes: The nose has notes of zesty lime, kumquats and green pineapple, with powdered lily aromas. The palate is energetic from the start with tangy citrus, white peach, and cloves
