Joel Kaye was born in Queens and grew up on Long Island. A turn in New Orleans after college showed Joel the flavor and joy of living in a food-centric community, and graduate school in the Bay Area gave him his first look into the world of fine wines. The food and farm-focused East End has been Joel's home since 2005; he is a real estate developer and the owner of the Wainscott Plaza Shopping Center. An enthusiastic participant in his shop's spring and fall tasting series, Joel began formal wine study with the American Sommelier Association in January 2015.

Wainscott Main Wine & Spirits is Joel's first foray into local specialty retail; he's happy and proud to call this shop home

Luis Marin began his self directed wine studies 10 years ago in East Hampton moving through the ranks of Nick & Toni's, East Hampton's premier fine dining establishment. Luis has personally curated the vast selection of wines at Wainscott Main since 2020.

Luis has lived year-round on the East End since summer 1998. The assortment at Wainscott Main Wine & Spirits is Luis' major purview. He loves curating wines from around the world in categories of affordability, vintage, provenance, body weight and texture. He's honored to be the face of the shop's ongoing community tastings and he can't wait to show you around!
