The Mugnerets care for their vineyards sustainably, using natural treatments if necessary. Plowing between the rows to control weed growth and green harvesting to control yields is the norm.
Marie-Christine and Marie-Andrée oversee one of Vosne Romanée's most renowned estates in an ever diligent yet warm manner. The domaine was founded by their grandfather, Andre Mugneret in 1933 but for the past three decades, “The Sisters” have run the winery in partnership with their mother, Jacqueline, who remains “the spirit of the domaine.” After the sudden death of her husband, George in 1988, it was Jacqueline, who bravely assumed daily activities at the winery to ensure the domaine would not be sold but instead passed down from father to his two daughters. The family business has no signs of slowing down, as their daughters Lucie, Fanny and Marion have also joined the domaine continuing the female legacy which now spans across three generations and six women. Their wines have the dignified friendliness of the Mugneret sisters themselves - generous and welcoming with a classic style that preserves all the delicacy, fruit, and freshness of Pinot Noir.
