Pale colour with a green tint. Pure clean fruit, apples on limestone, with a lovely fresh intensity on the palate. An electric thread through the middle, classically chiselled and properly persistent. JM
Saint-Aubin is a great white Burgundy appellation to watch, and Olivier Lamy is its pioneer of wines with great clarity and tension, characteristics that are en vouge for the newer generation of wine drinkers. The steadily cooler climate of Saint Aubin is made possible thanks to its large valley which bring in cool air from the western forested hills, and is also home to slopes that are more steep than a good portion of premier cru white Burgundy sites. If you are seeking a fresh take on White Burgundy or Chardonnay, Hubert Lamy is an excellent place to look.
