This really oscillated between ripe, fresh fruit and more secondary, savory expressions. Bright purple, ripe fruit initially. Then the olive thing took over for a while after about an hour. There is some smoke, meat and pepper at times. The tannin is a bit green, slightly astringent. Like seed tannin. But then juicy and lively feeling. It's more integrated and even on night two. I didn't get the impression this was a deep vintage, meant for extended cellaring. Short term rest might help it calm down some. A nicely lively and complex wine for the money though. A strong value.
