Génot-Boulanger produces classic wines from 22 hectares. Fruit is farmed organically and biodynamically, as the duo believes that these practices best showcase Burgundy’s many unique terroirs. ‘Folatieres’ is citrusy and mineral-driven, marked by flavors of lemon cream, orange rind, river stones, and hazelnuts.
Genot-Boulanger's 0.35 hectare parcel of Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru Folatieres was planted in the 1970s on a hillside of limestone and marly soils and with an ideal southeastern exposure. The family attributes the harmonious balance of the wine to the geological balance of limestone and clay in the soil. In their eyes it is one of the best 1er Cru of Puligny-Montrachet.
